| We reached the hotel much earlier than the check-in time. There was an excellent lobby area to relax. The reception staff were very friendly, sympathetic and helpful. Even before the room was alloted to us, we were allowed to have complimentary breakfast. As the buffet spread was very large, we enjoyed our breakfast even though we are total vegetarians. The room was given to us as soon as it was cleaned. The room was bright with morning sunshine and clean.
All the staff operating in the lobby area were very friendly and told us about the different places to visit in and around George Town. They also told us, names of malls, for purchasing different items.
The chef was friendly and offered to make a pure vegetarian sandwich for our lunch.
We were pleasantly surprised to see a couple of our American friends also staying at the same hotel.
The Evergreen Laurel Hotel made our stay from 6-4-12 to 9-4-12 an enjoyable one. We thank all the members of the hotel for making our stay a memorable one. We wish them all the best. |

| The room in Evergreen is spacous and confortable.
The reception services is very friendly and professional. They know their work.
Morning breakfast is pleasent.
In general, a good hotel to stay. |

| Hotel was very clean, the location is very strategic, and parking is very convenient.
The receptionist was not very professional and a bit rude. Room service was not that quick. But all these are still bearable.
I'll still come back to Evergreen again. |

| I needed to print my itinerary the night before departure and requested for the front desk to help print via an email if I can forward to them but they said I needed to print my own at the biz ctr and they can only help durin office hour as they are busy now.
Hence I went down biz ctr but my file is PDF and they do not hv the software in the biz ctr work station.
Only after voicing out my unhappiness on the service that they allow me to print via their FOM's work email and office.
I thk this is really uncalled for if they would hv helped from the beginning instead of telling me a 'no'. |

| You'll get a nice, large room with the standard amenities. Staff are nice. Re breakfast buffet- really lacklustre. |

| Great hotel to stay in - you really get value for money. Rooms are well maintained and clean, TV had good variety of channels. Location is not too bad - close enough to Gurney drive hawker centre and has a decent car park. Great for friends spending a 3 or 4 day trip in Penang. |

| Here are the cons:
- super slow room service/maintenence ( I usually have to call twice)
- pool is a hassle to access (sign in and what not)
- still, the pool isnt very clean (by my standards)
- abit further away from gurney (main eating places)
- our king sized bed was 2 super singles joined into 1 (??!!)
- for some, there is no wifi
Pros:
- Still located at gurney
- room is quite clean, complete with basic amenities
If you have extra cash to spare (and that i mean about $50sgd extra a day pax) I think G hotel might be a better pick. |
